Solar heating devices can also be classified according to the types of collector system. The flat plate absorber types have blackened metallic absorber sheets which are placed in a box. The box has a glass covering on the top. The metallic tubes carry water which gets heated in the process.
The evacuated tube collectors have double tubes. The outer tube is coated with selective absorbing material and it absorbs the heat and inner transfers it to the flowing water inside it.
Since solar energy is in the form of heat as well as light, solar lighting is also a good option for consumers towards green living.
